HAHA. ok so this is what happened.it was during macro econs tutorial, there was a couple presentations going on about something interesting you learnt on the E-learning topic, "Money". one of my macro classmates (he retook the module with 2 other friends) did a really cool 'experiment'.you may have seen this before, but i hadn't!it was soooo funny.
you take a note: any notethat has ishak's face on it, and fold vertical lines through his eyes.
face his face away from you and tilt it to an angle: he looks sad.
have the face, turn toward you and tilt it again. HAHAHA. joker.------------------------------------it all depends on how you look at it.
they say: there's two sides to a coin.
i say: there's two sides to a note; and a million other angles to look at it.
.
some things are REALLY blessings in disguise.
you just have to choose the right side and look at it in the best possible angle.

Wdls Ward YW activity today,
we learnt how to cook fish and prawn,
and the fish was sooooo easy that i'm seriously gonna try it at home.

we had it at CASABLANCA, at sethrina and zephyra's place.
this is the view from their living room window. pretty nice eh?

that's sis charlene, our new YW pres. on her right is sis layhoon, S&Z's mum (2nd counc.) who taught us.

sis charlene got this picture for us. very good one i must say.

a tiny group shot.
sethrina, ruth, zephyra, myra, myself and amanda.

and then the discovery. DANNNNGGGGGGGGG.

the food was ready in like... less than half an hour. really quick!

this is the juicy dory (fish) encrusted with cheddar and mozzarella cheese,
with a dash of mixed herbs. (of course, salt and pepper to taste)
and, the prawns stuffed with some smooth butter and garlic.
-----------------------------------------
the laurels then went for institute with sis charlene and sis yongyong.
sis charlene gave us a lift there cos she had to go too. haha.
we were sorta lost for a bit but with the help of the GPS system and samantha, we managed to get there safely (:

SMILE.
(at the open house, i made a SMILEY FACE with the lenses on display. haha)"Life is good, if we live in such a way to make it so. . . . 'A good life' comes as a result of the way we do things, of the words we choose to say, and even of the kind of thoughts we choose to have...." - Elder Benjamin De Hoyos (read a little more)i like that little quote! amid all the shabizz that's going round, worries about the school to choose, homework and assignments to finish, work to go to.. we all can find happiness in the process. it's really up to you if you want to, or subconsciously decide to make today a bad day or choose to have a productive day. i love it when my day has been productive and free from idleness. Sis Charlene (new YW pres) shared with us last sunday that we should make a consistent effort to pray daily, read the scriptures for at least 5 minutes daily aaaand, to smile! because grumpy people are.... well.. grumpy.
NP open house

the Ngee Ann poly open house lasted from the 8th to the 10th of Jan, yesterday being the last day. the CCA booth right beside us was the Japanese Tsu-something and the Korean Cultural people. of course the Japanese club came out full-force on the last day, showcasing a few of their cosplayers. one of which is this guy right here.
Can't Live Without
one thought that came to mind was that this heavily "armored" cosplayer, looking all big shot and glam had to eat. you might think that that's like DUH but after you see him strutting around in his huge headgear and posing for pictures like nothing, you start to wonder if he's real.
apparently, he can't live without food. to the extent that he has to stop what he's doing, remove his head gear (that is in the way), sit down and eat a healthy sandwich.
likewise, we can't live without spiritual food. we may be alive, but definitely spiritually dead and gone. the key to it is to stop what we're doing, remove ourselves from our high places and all other obstacles, sit down (may not be literally) and feast on spiritual food. sometimes it seems like the opportunity cost if taking time out of our busy schedule is percieved to be too high and you find yourself unwilling to do so. if so, you'll never completely know how tasty the sandwich is.
SOS, Sentosa.

finally got the time to take a breather off the never ending week.
incompleted projects and assignments and clashing timetables and schedules calls for late lunches and meetings after classes.
well at least the week is coming to an end,
NP's open house started today!
so baaaaack to the Songs of the Sea,
the show was good,
had a good splash of the old musical fountain but of course much better.
although i couldn't really catch the story line from the 20 minute show, i'd recommend it cos of the effects here and there. check out some pictures i got. (thanks to mr. tripod)
before going in. checking out the lights on the floor that changed colour.

blazing.
water effects from the old musical fountain,
with cool colour changing lights as well.

pretty neat stuff.
one of the characters. all she did was say a few lines and... smile. haha. like for some colgate ad or something.
very very cool. it's like a tiny tiny NDP.
this one looks like gold glitter. so pretty!
one of the last "big bang"s.
a group picture after the show! left to right: dennis, wongwei, titus, myra, samantha and myself.
more colour changing lights against the wall of a funny building.

most hilarious jump shot of the night. that's dennis, wongwei and titus.
aaaaand... one last random PPG picture. haha.

polaroid
3:30 AM
PHOTOGRAPHY.two of my friends were at the entrance doing their jobs, and there was this guy who walked up to them and asked if they wanted a picture. he gave them the polaroid(picture on top).
i like photography because it's an art, and an artistic way of storing memories that sometimes might surpass the best journal entry. put the two together and you'll have a box full of memories, helping you ease that worry of FORGETTING that certain stuff happen. i also enjoy photography cos it enables you to capture kodak moments, and spontaneously random acts. and the cool part is that you dont have to have a super pro black scary metal camera. all you need is A CAMERA (:
school's starting, still have my last 10h perosonal progress project to finish, open house to get over, cca fiesta to plan for, and also the very important first outing of the year in the third week of the month to create.
p.s. amazing thing that happened today: i FINALLY got to bake the brownies. after like 3 weeks. haha!
LOOKING FORWARD TO WEDNESDAY. INSTITUTE!
