taking a break off photomarathon,
yesterday was daddy's 49th birthday.
it was quite a long day for me.
morning (10am to 12n) : SPCA
afternoon (1pm to 6.30pm) : KARATE COMP
night ( 8pm to 10pm) : SWENSEN'S
our family went to watch sam's compete in SP
he just finished his karate grading and skipped a grade while his other friends got a single promotion. he's a brownie now. really happy for him.
this sequence he was doing is called "Geksai Dai Ich". and no, sorry, i have no clue what it means.
preparing for the sparring session. that's the mouth guard thing.

mum and dad laughing away with my uncle.
i like this picture of mum. she looks really cute here. haha.
this isn't sam's fight. i couldnt get a good one of his sparring session.. i have yet to aquire the skill of sports photography.
that's my uncle lawrence who gave out the prizes for one section. he trains with the SP team and did the recording of the scoring for the matches.
that's my other uncle steven, uncle lawrence and uncle steven are both dad's brothers. he's a black belt.

ah there we go. sam took part in 3 matches and got a medal for each which is pretty cool.
1) Kata (sequential movement - meaning they memorise the steps) - 3rd
2) Kihon II - basic for senior belt (green and above) - 3rd
3) Kumite (sparring) - 1st
there's like quite a number of em there. from little 6 year old kids to poly students. this is just a section of them cos my 50mm lense OBVIOUSLY couldnt get em all (it wasnt meant for it anyway). the first row of guys, second from the left, is called dennis. he's from ngee ann. we're both traitors! haha.

this is jason yee. he's sam's sensei. they won "best Dojo (the place where you train) award". his Dojo won the most number of medals. ----------------------------
it was pretty late so we went to swensen's to have a small celebration for dad, since most of the day was spent watching the matches.
josh - i couldnt decide which picture to post up so i just did both.
sam and mum.
dad!
alright so i've been missing for a while.school's been pretty mad. pretty extremely unimaginably mad.business law, excel, macro econs, business management etc.it's
smashing.here's just a couple of pictures during the photomarathon.PHOTOMARATHON!internet's not being really nice to me on my laptop now so i can't upload anymore pictures :/i'll probably leave it for another time.the first theme was CHANGE. haha. sherman got his picture printed in an A4 size and stuck up on this wall where only about 15 pictures were 'featured' per theme. check it out at his blog.AND, while you're at it, take a peep at the blog header. HAHA. that's ma shoe(:
we started off with 3 girls and 3 guys but sorta split into 2 guys, then 3 girls and 1 guy. the 3 guys up there is junhao, togusa and sherman.
hannah, jacq, togusa. we were at marina south. hannah and togusa spent at least 15 minutes dropping coins to get the perfect shot. well.. hannah didn't submit the shot in the end, but at least she got a few good ones. haha.
check out the flash. SWEET STUFF.
leaving marina south: that's sherman, togusa, junhao and hannah. jacq was further in front. i like this shot.
I'LL BE BACK WITH MORE PICTURES (:

i like sprite. sprite and i are friends. this was taken during the ubin trip, at chek jawa.
recently i've suprisingly been able to hit the library and soak in some good stuff. there's this phrase that i came across which i thought was interesting:
"the man who says it can't be done ought to get out of the way of the man who's doing it."
how cool is that
pulau ubin outing.
YES. pulau ubin was fun.i was like glowing red, but i'm still not as tan as my bro.he's REALLY tan.i met a lot of new people. life is good.
my camera bag sitting in the little basket. how cute.

don't ask me where/what this is.
someone's flower

i waited like one mintue for this shiny fish thing to turn to the side.

the dog at chek jawa.

the fattest mud skipper i've seen. probably cos it's one of the first few i've seen in the first place. (tsk, city kids.)

the tide was kinda low when we were there. and that's like seaweed.
HOW COOL IS THAT.

check out the camera bags. hard core.

this one is cute.

this is sherman! his pictures are THE BOMB.
you should check out his blog. and his flickr account. it's AMAZING. and i found out that he lives 3 blocks away from me and we came from the same primary school and our chinese names are similar. (that's the funniest part. haha)
and.. the boat ride back.
today was a happy day.
